Key roles

Chair, CRPS Network and UK Registry: Dr Nicholas Shenker.

Dr Shenker is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. He delivers a weekly clinic for patients with CRPS, with access to physiotherapists and occupational therapists who have expertise in seeing people with this condition. As an Honorary Fellow of the University of Cambridge, Dr Shenker is involved with a number of research studies - collaborations include the field of genetics, MRI imaging, EEG testing and virtual reality environments.

Co-Ordinator, CRPS Network and UK Registry: Lisa Buckle.

Lisa is a Research Project Facilitator at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. She has various financial and administrative responsibilities within the Research & Development Department, and has also contributed to CRPS-related studies such as COMPACT. Lisa maintains the CRPS UK registry database and Network website. She is also responsible for all administrative aspects of the Network.

UK Registry Steering Committee.

The functions of the steering committee are to plan and oversee research relating to the UK Registry, which ensures a transparent approval process for access to Registry data. The committee is also involved in planning updates or changes to the Registry, in addition to acting as a Project Management Group on collaborative projects.​

CRPS Network Committee.

All of our members are part of this wider group and are invited to attend meetings twice a year. Our membership largely comprises of NHS healthcare professionals, the majority of whom undertake research in addition to carrying out their clinical responsibilities. We also have some academic researchers within our membership, who are based at universities around the UK. â€‹â€‹â€‹
